<p style="text-align: justify;">A inclus&atilde;o da Rede Ferrovi&aacute;ria Federal S.A. no Programa Nacional de Desestatiza&ccedil;&atilde;o atrav&eacute;s do Decreto n.&ordm; 473/92, propiciou o in&iacute;cio da transfer&ecirc;ncia de suas malhas para a iniciativa privada, durante um per&iacute;odo de 30 anos, prorrog&aacute;veis por mais 30. Esse processo tamb&eacute;m resultou na liquida&ccedil;&atilde;o da RFFSA, a partir de 07/12/99.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Em 28/06/97, o Governo Federal outorgou &agrave; Companhia Vale do Rio Doce - CVRD, no processo de sua privatiza&ccedil;&atilde;o, a explora&ccedil;&atilde;o por 30 anos, prorrog&aacute;veis por mais 30, das Estrada de Ferro Vit&oacute;ria a Minas e Estrada de Ferro Caraj&aacute;s, utilizadas basicamente no transporte de min&eacute;rio dessa companhia.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Al&eacute;m das malhas da RFFSA e das estradas de ferro da Companhia Vale do Rio Doce, a ANTT &eacute; respons&aacute;vel pelas seguintes concess&otilde;es:</p>
